Honestly, as I walked out of the theater, I wasn’t really sure how to feel. The Review: I wanted this movie to ROCK! The feeling of genuine excitement I felt watching the trailer… so much action, so much potential… That feeling was not consistent in the actual film. There will be shooting, horses, natives, and deserts. Lonergan’s dagnabit steel bracelet is actually a futuristic weapon, so he has probably been abducted before. Once the stage is set for a star-studded western, “PUHYEEEW (cue lasar sounds)!!!!!” Alien spacecrafts attack and snatch up half of the town. Ella Swensen (Olivia Wilde) is pretty and also in the movie. Woodrow Dollarhyde (Harrison “Gettin’ Pretty Old” Ford) is a rugged, gun-slingin’ old timer.
Set in the late nineteenth century Wild West, Jake Lonergan (Daniel “Double-0” Craig) is the new tough guy in town his mysteriousness is maxed out, complete with amnesia and a confangled metallic wrist contraption. No, they spent a LOT of money on this one. What we know going in…: Contrary to first inferences from the title, this is not a documentary about Arizona’s immigration laws, and it is definitely not meant to be funny.
